child of hope
Child of Hope is a Christian-based charity making huge improvements for slum children and their families from its schools in Eastern Uganda – by providing free education, healthcare, welfare, food and clothing to kids from the poorest and most vulnerable families. And helping their mums start a small business helps lift the whole family out of the worst excesses of poverty.  Martin Hayter gave the talk in our September morning prayer, and is working with Child of Hope in Uganda.

porchl Kent’s largest charity for homeless and vulnerable people. We’re here for people who have nowhere to go and no-one to turn to. Some are living on the streets, others need our support to prevent or resolve any issues that could put them at risk of homelessness.

Our Mission & Outreach

At St. Mary's we support many different charities and causes as part of our mission and outreach.

Church Mission Soc

Church Mission Society. Who?

Good question, since we are all about the “who” – our people.

We are a community of people who have been set free to follow God’s call in mission. Thousands of people from all walks of life are part of Church Mission Society – praying, learning and acting together in pursuit of that call.

We believe every Christian – and ultimately every person – is called to join in God’s mission and has the potential to bring challenge, change, hope and freedom to the world.

We all have a part to play.

St. Mary's has supported Church Mission Society over many years through our Lent Lunches.

Planning your Visit

A Warm Welcome

! SOME CHANGES HAVE BEEN MADE TO SERVICES DUE TO COVID-19Please Check Calendar

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at St.Mary's (details below) for our Sunday Service starting at 10am. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits afterward. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Plan your journey:

Open Google Maps

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10am with a warm welcome..

What about my kids?2020-06-26 15-01-11

Treasure Seekers (Sunday school) takes place during each of the 10am services except the Family Service on the first Sunday

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go out to Treasure Seekers.  You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
