A big thank you to Wendy Williams - Parish Magazine

It is with a huge debt of gratitude that we say farewell and a big thank you to Wendy Williams who is stepping down as Editor of the Chartham Parish Magazine.

Wendy has done an incredible job over the last few years.  She has used her wealth of experience and skill, along with many hours each month to produce such a wonderful magazine.   Wendy’s efforts have certainly done so much good in both informing and bringing together our community, and we are extremely grateful for this.  We are very pleased Wendy has agreed to continue on the team in a different role, so we are not losing her completely.

St Mary’s churchwardens, together with the PCC are currently looking at how we can best continue the Parish Magazine for Chartham.   We want to restart monthly issues as soon as possible, after missing some over the COVID period for reasons that were unavoidable.  We are seeking a new editor or editorial team and are considering positive ideas and proposals for how we can best manage the publication and distribution.

Going forward, the PCC aims to ensure that the workload in producing, marketing, editing and distribution of the magazine is shared across a team. We feel it is vital that we do not ask too much of any individual and to allow for cover if anyone needs to step away for a period for any reason.  We are so lucky to still have a continuing core team in place that have for many years given so much time and effort, we thank them most sincerely.

Would you be interested in helping in any way, however big or small, by being part of the team?. Just by bringing your particular gift or skill, giving an hour a month to maybe a day or two, will make a big difference. We need help for editing, desktop publishing, contributions, production and distribution of the Parish Magazine. If you would like to offer or discuss how you could help, please contact the Churchwardens robin@stmaryschartham.org or cathy@stmaryschartham.org.

As Wendy told us, it is a fantastic way to meet people, continue using your skills, keep active and to give something positive back to the village.  It is also a great tool for our local businesses to reach out to new customers.

WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP to ensure this vital publication and important part of our village community continues.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.
